Intimate Partner Violence in the Golden Age-Systematic Review of Risk and Protective Factors

About the Course:

This course discusses intimate partner violence (IPV) in the golden years. It examines both risk and protective factors throughout aging. Some risk factors vary by race and ethnicity, while other are universal, such as cognitive decline and gender. Cognitive decline may be bi-directional in nature, though there are no studies on the topic. The authors cite a dearth of research of protective factors as a problem in the study of IPV in the aging population, in addict to an overall lack of research of IPV in elders.
