Mental Health Smartphone Apps-Review and Evidence-Based Recommendations for Future Developments

About the Course:

The number of mental health apps (MHapps) developed and now available to smartphone mobile phone users has increased in recent years. MHapps, mobile apps, and other technology-based solutions have the potential to play an important part in the future of mental health care, such as treating depression and anxiety, using cognitive behavior therapy ,and other interventions using clinical psychology. However, MHapp developers rarely conduct or publish trial-based experimental validation of their apps. This article attempts to set a clear, evidence based recommendation for creating better MHapps.

This course is based on the reading-based online, Mental Health Smartphone Apps-Review and Evidence-Based Recommendations for Future Developments created by David Bakker, B Psych (Hons), Nikolaos Kazantzis, PhD, and Debra Rickwood, BA (Hons), PhD in 2016.
