Understanding of Readiness to Engage With Interventions for Children Exposed to Domestic Violence and Abuse.

About the Course

Without effective intervention, children who grow up in homes affected by domestic violence and abuse are at risk of poor outcomes across the lifespan. The primary aim of this review is to enhance future interventions through targeting modifiable factors in readiness. Upon a systematic review of relevant qualitative studies, the authors applied an ecological perspective to analyze the complex interplay of individual, relational, and organizational factors that influence children’s engagement readiness. Key words: Domestic violence, abuse, engagment, readiness, ecological perspective

This course is based on the article, Understanding of readiness to engage with interventions for children exposed to domestic violence and abuse created by Dr. Emma Howarth, et al. in May of 2018.
