About the Course:

The booklet upon which this course is based focuses on providing caregivers with coping strategies to help them shift their focus from a loved one’s cancer treatment to recovery. Issues discussed include the transition to a “new normal,” communication skills and feelings, ways to get support, helping with follow-up care, and the need for self-care.

This course is recommended for health care professionals, especially psychologists, counselors, social workers, and nurses who seek knowledge about cancer caregivers’ changing roles when a loved one’s treatment is completed. It is appropriate for all levels of participants’ knowledge.

  2. Describe the feelings and reactions that tend to be shared by many caregivers of loved ones.
