Based on the combined experience and knowledge of six experts who teach and consult on ethics and risk management strategies and principles, the book introduces a new model that takes the reader beyond the outdated “cook book” or “one size fits all” approach to risk management. It introduces an innovative approach to assess and manage risk; an approach that takes into account the clinician’s skills, training, and expertise rather than focusing solely on external factors, many of which may be ambiguous or beyond the practitioner’s control.
This course is based on the book, Assessing and Managing Risk in Psychological Practice: An Individualized Approach created by Bruce E. Bennett, Ph.D., Patricia M. Bricklin, Ph.D., Eric Harris, J.D., Ed.D., Samuel Knapp, Ed.D., Leon VandeCreek, Ph. D., and Jeffrey N. Younggren, Ph.D.
