Our distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for addiction counselors, as set forth by the Texas LCDP.
Renewal
Renewal hours must be specific to substance use disorders or related to chemical dependency counseling as defined by KSA dimensions.
3 hours of ethics, 6 hours of HIV/AIDS required for each renewal period. If job description includes supervision, then 3 hours in clinical supervision required.
Note:Changes in Number of CE Hours Required for Each Two Year Renewal Period – Effective September 1, 2007
A LCDC who holds a master’s or other advanced degree must complete at least 24 hours of continuing education during each two-year licensure period. The 24 hours of education must include the specific courses required by rule (see above).
A LCDC who does not hold a master’s or other advanced degree must complete at least 40 hours of continuing education.
Initial Licensure
Texas LCDP does not accept our courses for initial licensure.
