Our distance learning courses are available for continuing education credit for addiction counselors, as set forth by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.

CASAC
You must document completion of continuing professional education consisting of a minimum of 60 clock hours (40 hours must be related to substance abuse counseling).
- A one-time requirement for three hours of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) training must be completed by all CASACs. If you have not submitted the approved training with a previous initial or renewal application, you will need to do so on your next application.
- A continuing requirement for six (6) hours of OASAS approved ethics training will be required upon every renewal.
*If you hold a Gambling Specialty Designation, an additional 10 hours of gambling-related education and/or training must be completed and submitted.
CPP & CPS
You must document completion of continuing professional education consisting of a minimum of 60 clock hours (40 clock hours must be related to substance use disorder prevention).
*If you hold a Gambling Specialty Designation, an additional 10 hours of gambling-related education and/or training must be completed and submitted.
Continuing education (renewal) requirements must be met by the expiration date of your current credential.
AddictionCounselorCE, a service CE Learning Systems, is approved to offer continuing educations courses by OASAS (#0707). CE Learning Systems LLC maintains responsibility for the courses.
