About the Course:
This course is recommended for health care professionals, especially psychologists, counselors, social workers, and nurses who provide services to or seek knowledge about interventions geared to the explosive child. Whether unfamiliar or familiar with some of the concepts involved in this material, you can benefit from information in this course. A must for the many parents, teachers, and professionals who attempt to guide, teach, and work with difficult, hard-to-manage and easily frustrated children. Dr. Ross Greene makes a compassionate argument that the difficulties of explosive children stem from developmental deficits in two critical skills: flexibility and frustration tolerance. Drawing upon recent advances in the neurosciences, Dr. Greene describes the factors that contribute to “inflexible-explosive” behavior in children and why the strategies that work for most children aren’t as effective for them. He then lays out a sensitive, practical approach to helping a child at home and school.
This course is based on the , The Explosive Child (2nd Edition) created by Ross W. Greene, Ph.D.
