About the Course:
Mental Health Atlas is a project of the World Health Organization. The overall vision and conceptualization of the project is provided by Shekhar Saxena. Mental Health Atlas 2017 is the latest in a series of publications that first appeared in 2001, with subsequent updates published in 2005, 2011 and 2014. The 2017 version of Mental Health Atlas continues to provide up-to-date information on the availability of mental health services and resources across the world, including financial allocations, human resources and specialized facilities for mental health.

After taking this course, you should be able to:
- Identify relative availability and extent of mental health data and reporting by the World Health Organization Regions.
- Determine the Status of stakeholder collaboration with regard to mental health services, including Policies/Plans, Legislation, and Stakeholder Collaboration.
- Ascertain the extent of financial and human resources allocated for mental health globally, by WHO region, and by country.
- Identify key indicators of mental health service availability and uptake.
- Assess the status of mental health interventions regarding promotion of services and prevention of mental disorders as well as reducing stigmatization, discrimination, and human rights violations.
