About the Course:

“Talking about bulls is not the same as being in the bullring.” Spanish proverb. Experience speaks much louder than words. Learn how to guide your clients through six advanced experiential exercises which will lead towards intuitive eating. These experiences will increase their body confidence, as well as their ability to feed themselves. The exercises that you will learn include: covert behavior rehearsal, mindful conscious eating, blindfold eating, mirrored meals, therapeutic food days and solos with food.

Content Outline:
Introduction of Presenters and Topic. 5 minutes. Intro to covert behavior rehearsal (CBR). Video of client discussing her experience with CBR. How to recognize when your client is ready and how to present and process the experience. Group discussion and questions on CBR. 15 minutes. Intro to mindful/ conscious eating. How to recognize when your client is ready and how to present and process the experience. Group discussion and questions on mindful / conscious eating. 10 minutes. Intro to mirrored eating. How to recognize when your client is ready and how to present and process the experience. Group discussion and questions on mirrored eating. 15 minutes. Intro to blindfold eating. Video of blindfold eating. How to recognize when your client is ready and how to present and process the experience. Group discussion and questions on blindfold eating. 15 minutes. Intro to the therapeutic food day. How to recognize when your client is ready and how to present and process the experience. Group discussion and questions on the therapeutic food day. 15 minutes. Intro to the solo with food experience. How to recognize when your client is ready and how to present and process the experience. Group discussion and questions on the solo with food experience. 15 minutes. Closing and additional questions if time permits.

Rebekah Hennes, R.D.
Rebekah Hennes, R.D. is a Consulting Dietitian at the Eating Disorder Center of California and is in private practice in Brentwood, California. She co-authored "Real World Recovery - Intuitive Food Programs". She authored "Return to Health" a guidebook for eating disorders, as well as the new "One Day at a Time" food journal, and was a contributor to the "Eating Disorder Sourcebook" by Carolyn Costin, 3rd Edition. Rebekah was also a reviewer for the American Dietetic Association position paper on Eating Disorders. Rebekah pioneered the Intuitive Food Program at the Center for Change in 1999.
Erin Naimi, Registered Dietitian
Erin Naimi, R.D. is a nutrition therapist, in private practice, in Beverly Hills, CA . Erin has worked with various Treatment Centers including UCLA's outpatient Eating Disorder Program, The Monte Nido Treatment Center in Malibu, CA, The Eating Disorder Center of California in Brentwood, CA, and Moonview Sanctuary in Santa Monica, CA. Erin recently co-authored the book "Real World Recovery-Intuitive Food Programs" and is a frequent contributor to various publications and books including the recently published (3rd Edition) Eating Disorder Sourcebook. Erin offers training for professionals and campuses for Eating Disorder Prevention and Mindfulness Eating techniques.
