About the Course:

Two therapists outline the dissociation, disowning, and devaluing after-effects of sexual abuse; propose ways that survivors can come to terms with their experiences; and offer examples of solution-oriented therapy with individuals, groups, and couples. A sampling of topics: disrupting problem patterns and evoking solution patterns and contexts, continuity and transition rituals for healing, and innovative methods for stopping self-harm and intrusive flashbacks.

Bill O'Hanlon, M.S., and Bob Bertolino, Ph.D.
Bill O'Hanlon is a psychotherapist who was a developer of Solution-Oriented Therapy and a founder of Possibility and Inclusive Therapies. He is a licensed mental health professional, a certified professional counselor, a licensed marriage and family therapist. His clinical work is recognized for its collaborative respectful approach to clients. He is known for his storytelling, irreverent humor, clear and accessible presentation style and his psychotic enthusiasm for whatever he is doing. Bill has now authored or co-authored 19 books. He appeared on Oprah with his book, Do One Thing Different: Ten Simple Ways to Change Your Life. He has also appeared on The Today Show, Canada AM, and Body By Jake. His work has been featured in Ladies Home Journal, New Woman, Newsweek, Bottom Line, Self and The Psychotherapy Networker. He has taught over 900 therapy seminars around the world.
