Active Occupational Therapist (OT) and Occupational Therapy Associate (OTA) licensees must complete 24 hours of approved CE during each full licensure renewal period, which is between August 1 to July 31 even-numbered years (e.g. 2018, 2020) unless you are renewing for the first time and/or upgrading. Continuing education must be in a field of health and social services related to occupational therapy, must be related to a licensee’s current or anticipated roles and responsibilities in occupational therapy, and must serve to protect the public by enhancing the licensee’s continuing competence.
CE hours earned in excess of the required hours for the 2-year period may not be carried over to the next biennial period. One CPR course per biennial is acceptable.
