Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapist Assistants must complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years, by their birth date. The CE hours must have been obtained during the preceding two years, from birth date to birth date. CE hours cannot be carried over to the next reporting period.
Suicide Prevention Training: All licensees are required to take three hours of training on suicide prevention at least once every 6 years. APPROVALS: The Board does not pre-approve continuing education courses for presenters or licensees. CE hours may be obtained through 2 or more of the following methods which have specified goals and objectives relating to the practice of occupational therapy as defined in RCW 18.59.020 (https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=18.59.020) and WAC 246-847-010 (https://app.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx?cite=246-847-010); inservice, coursework, conferences, workshops, peer reviewed self-study, presentations or publications.
