The manual upon which this course is based provides the foundation for the involvement of educators and other concerned professionals in combating the ongoing problem of child abuse and neglect. It may be used by mental health, law enforcement, case management, health care, and early childhood professionals to gain a better understanding of the role of educators in child protection. The material presented is intended to provide relevant, easily understandable information regarding child maltreatment and its identification, investigation, assessment, and treatment.
