100137: Speaking With a Common Language
About the Course:
The purpose of this course is to examine the degree to which current mental health and substance abuse data standards must be updated to be responsive to the dramatic evolution of mental health and substance abuse services under managed care financial arrangements. This will be accomplished by reviewing previous efforts at development of data standards and examining these from the perspective of managed care information requirements. The chapter will conclude by discussing potential partnerships to facilitate needed changes and by presenting recommendations for specific courses of action.
